Heavy oil dispersant,AKA HOD, is a new type of additive for the development of heavy oil fields which is developed independently by Sunrise. Compared to the traditional development concept of reducing viscosity and steam flooding in heavy oil fields, it focuses more on enhancing the fluidity of underground crude oil.
HOD mainly solves the problem of underground crude oil flowability in the development process of heavy oil and ultra heavy oil fields. By dispersing the crude oil, the flowability of the crude oil in the reservoir is increased, and the oil recovery rate and recovery rate are improved, ultimately achieving sustained and efficient production of heavy oil and ultra heavy oil fields.
Heavy oil dispersants can be applied to various oilfield situations. According to the characteristics of different oil reservoirs and crude oils, flexible methods such as throughput and flooding can be used to effectively develop and reuse oil fields.
The technology related to heavy oil dispersants is independently developed by Sunrise Company, and the cooperation with customers is not limited to product sales. Technical cooperation can be carried out jointly to achieve maximum benefits.
At present, the product has been applied in multiple oil fields. The following figure compares the crude oil situation before and after use of the product
No. | Concentration % | Viscosity reduction rate % | Result | Temperature℃ |
1 | 0.50% | 91.9 | Larger particles after emulsification | 75 |
2 | 1.00% | 98.8 | Small particles and high stability after emulsification | 75 |
3 | 1.50% | 99.2 | Small particles and high stability after emulsification | 75 |

Evaluate the viscosity reduction effect of different concentrations of heavy oil dispersant solutions adsorbed by simulated quartz sand separately. The viscosity reduction rate of 0.5% crude oil dispersant after adsorption is 96.9%, and the viscosity reduction rate is greater than 98% when the concentration is greater than 1.0%. The experimental results show that the viscosity reduction performance of simulated quartz sand remains almost unchanged after sufficient adsorption.
This figure shows the results of natural settling dehydration rate of heavy oil dispersant at different times in a real case.
